Specialty Sculptor
Biography Born in Morton, Washington, Gene Amondson spent his early years in a logging camp near Mount Rainier with summers spent in Alaskan logging camps and villages which provided inspiration for his Alaskan art work. Amondson began painting while attending Pacific Warner college in Oregon and continued to study and teach art while earning his Master's degree at Asbury in Kentucky. He studied under Sergei Bongart and Fred Oldfield which inspired his use of rich colors. Rolf Lindberg, Sweden's foremost Troll Artist, gave him an outlet for his sense of humor in his whimsical watercolors.
Statement My paintings can be seen throughout Alaska and the Northwest, and I've shown in several art shows including a one-man show of my paintings and carvings in the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, Wa. My biggest collection as an Alaskan artist can be viewed at The New Horizon's Gallery in Fairbanks Alaska.
