Statement The occurrence of personally motivated displays, empowering identity constructions and the way in which outsider status finds validity in specialist community grouping are mainly what influences my work. Most recently I have been instigating contact with people unknown to me, through the Internet. The particularly cold, impersonal nature of email communication is remarkable to me in that it defines the loneliness of the communicator. Also, as much press attention has pointed out recently, Internet communication is so far removed from personal contact that individual identities are immediately fictionalised by distance and sometimes deliberately disguised. | |
